JLC Live Recap

Chief Architect at JLC Live 2017 in Providence

Chief Architect was an exhibitor at the 2017 JLC Live in Providence last week and we have Scott Harris, our VP of Sales and Marketing, here to fill us in about this event.

  1. What can you tell us about this show?

The Chief Architect booth was located on the main exhibitor floor, Booth #7.  We had a large 10×20 booth and the CA staff was very busy throughout the show answering questions and providing informational presentations and software demonstrations for show attendees.  Many of the presentations were centered around the new features in X9 which was officially released Feb 15.  There was a lot of great feedback on the new X9 version including a significant buzz about the new Virtual Reality features for 360 Image & 3D Viewer export and the new enhancements for supporting touch screens with gestures.

  1. How was show attendance compared to prior years?

Chief Architect has been attending the JLC Live since 1995.  This year we felt the show was well attended in comparison to prior years. The weather this year was a bit colder which we believe encouraged attendees to attend the show.

  1. Did you get a feel for how the housing market is doing in this region?

The housing market in this region is booming. Many people cannot find enough labor making it challenging for them to move forward with their projects.

  1. Were there any other Chief Architect events in Providence?

Yes, Chief Architect hosted an evening reception prior to the show at the Union Station Brewery.  We had a private room with about 30 guests who enjoyed complimentary drinks and appetizers.  The event was capped off with a presentation on Room Planner demonstrating how to import as-built rooms and how to use 3D Virtual Reality to show clients their current projects. We also raffled off a Leica Laser distance meter to one lucky guest.

In addition, Chief Architect hosted a 2-Day training event with Introductory and Intermediate classes as well as a Kitchen, Bath & Interiors class.  The in-depth classroom seminars were a great success with a total of 45 students attending the classes.  We are already looking forward to our next training event in Dallas on May 25 & 26.

Scott Harris, is so knowledgeable about Chief Architect, it’s scary. Ask him anything, I’ll bet dollars to penny’s, he gets it right. Who wants to try?
